Welcome to ToffCap.
We’re a small team of fund managers looking at public companies all day and writing about them.
Our job is simple: we look at a LOT of situations and try to identify cases where there’s a big discrepancy between value and price. The wider we cast our nets, the better we’ll be able to recognize good opportunities.
We also study a ton of event-driven trades and special situations. Even more, we share our best ideas (30+) weekly in our ToffCap Monday Monitor.
In terms of publications, we aim at 42 - 46 TMM’s and at least 12 ideas per year - though if you follow ToffCap you’ll know that its generally (quite) a bit more between core ideas, quick pitches, watchlist ideas, etc. And of course we like to share regular updates on our core ideas.
It might also be good to briefly mention what ToffCap is not. This is not a ‘road to $1m’, ‘follow our portfolio on a daily basis’, ‘50p deep dive per week’, etc. publication. Please keep in mind that we generally do not post when (if) we buy, sell and / or how we size the position. YOU decide that for yourself.
We learned years ago that having a good idea is by far not enough to generate good returns. One of the most important things is that it must also fit your character and investment style.
In contrast, ToffCap’s goal is to be a great, high quality ‘push in the right direction’. We scour the markets on a daily basis and have a pretty large network of peers constantly sharing ideas. We screen, assess and do the works on many ideas each week. We almost always have more ideas that time. And we want to share these ideas with you.
